Lullaby Duets-  By Camille Mehta

The song I hear
Only half the notes
The rest are guesses, wishes
Playing in the dark.
My lips don't open
So you're unsure
Why my foot taps
On your leg.
You don't need my voice
To know the music of my heart.
You heard it in my womb.
Your hand takes up the tune.
I feel your eyes, your smile.
Sing song cracks the breathy air.
"Shhhh  My Darling, sleepy time".
But you've picked up on the music
That was hanging there.

Sulfur Pile by: Camille Mehta

I can't help but love you,
Sulfur Pile.
You are like Vancouver's bad lover.

Mysterious and beguiling,
Gaudy and grotesque,
Overtly flashy,
But you pull it off.

You are a mover and a shaker,
A foul reputation maker,
A world traveler with earthy roots.

I return, fixated, entranced.
My five time romance.
Odoriferous, Ubiquitous,
Abundant excess.
Across the water,
You fluoresce.

Long Walk-  By Camille Mehta

The long walk
Brought us here
Over salty barnacle wilds.
We talked it out,
You and I,
Into the starry quiet.
Now accounts compiled,
Let fly like birds.
Travelling bodies be still.
Hearts reconciled.

Girl in a Wetsuit - To a Statue by: Camille Mehta

Look at you, eternal swimmer
Resting after your hard work,
Gracefully poised on your rainbow rock.
How strong you must be to have braved the inlet current.
Almost mythological!
Do you contemplate the sunset?
The long journey home?
Or do you feel peaceful,
Content with your achievement,
Making the moment seem longer, more complete
By sitting in the presence of now.
